Our personnel are transformed traditional cobblers and shoe crafters who were used to informal shoe production with little attention to quality. They mostly were used to serving the low end consumer market for leather shoes produced in the backyards and the popular kariokor market in Nairobi and Mwanzetse in Dar Es Salaam.. We have however instilled quality and customer- centered shoe crafting which yields better satisfaction and referrals from customers. Through instilling commercial approaches to leather crafting, the artisanal, we have transformed them into a manufacturing pool that also benefits from the continuous work engagement making their lives stable. Traditional cobbling with its informal nature inhibited growth and development of the artisanal leather crafters into the humongous manufacturing resource that they portend. TLGA aspires to tap into this potential and commercialize and transform the talents of the crafters into a big professional enterprise.

Traditional cobbling was a male dominated field. This kept off women from taking up roles in the production and crafting processes associated with shoe crafting. We however realize that there is a great potential in the attention to detail that women posses. We have therefore deliberately recruited talented and underprivileged women into our production, We pride in tapping the potential of these women to ascertain quality of our products. Our inhouse training aims at creating a conducive environment for the women to take up the challenges in production of quality shoes and other leather goods so as to earn a livelihood. We are the first leather crafting entity in the region to incorporate this aspects in the production process of our shoes and leather goods. We offer free trainings aimed at developing the women into crafters. We also encourage them to feel comfortable and engage in such productive ventures which will enable them provide for themselves and their children with a resultant independence on their part.
